ANNUAL GYNECOLOGICAL CHECK-UP

It is important to periodically maintain a gynecological control with a purely preventive purpose, therefore it is recommended that, at least once a year, a gynecological review at Medport Center Clinic Zurich at Kloten to be able to diagnose any anomaly or alteration in an early way or to foresee those problems that may arise.

BREAST PALPATION FOR PRECAUTIONARY CONTROL

The palpation  of the breast is the simplest, but most informative, method of examining the breast, which can be performed by a doctor at Medport Center Clinic Zurich at Kloten. The goal of palpation is to detect possible diseases in the gland in time. After all, the earlier the pathology is revealed, the more optimistic is the prognosis for recovery. This is especially true for tumors, including breast cancer.

CYTOLOGY (PAP SMEAR ETC.)

Cervical cytology has become a screening method globally used to identify asymptomatic risk patients, in a stage of the disease when efficient intervention is possible. The investigation may not be used as a final means of diagnosis, but it must be confirmed through histopathological diagnosis.
Cytology is able to determine the malignancy of the cells, but it cannot specify their exact source; hence, in case Pap Smear shows any changes, a colonoscopy is required, followed by a biopsy or a dynamic monitoring, as the case may be.

TRANSVAGINAL ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION

A transvaginal ultrasound, also called an endovaginal ultrasound, is a type of pelvic ultrasound used by doctors to examine female reproductive organs. This includes the uterusfallopian tubesovaries, cervix, and vagina.

“Transvaginal” means “through the vagina.” This is an internal examination.

Unlike a regular abdominal or pelvic ultrasound, where the ultrasound wand (transducer) rests on the outside of the pelvis, this procedure involves your doctor or a technician inserting an ultrasound probe into your vaginal canal.

CTG FOR THE UNBORN BABY

Cardiotocography or CTG is a test usually done in the third trimester of pregnancy. This simple, painless and non-invasive procedure is done during pregnancy to check your baby's condition.

The test is also known as a "nonstress test (NST)". This is because your baby is not under the 'stress' of labour, and nothing has been done to put stress on him.
